On May 21, 1979, Dr. Milton Kaye, with his son Jerome, opened the first Family Dental Clinic employing seven Dentists and thirty-five technicians and support staff. Dr. Kaye's mission was to revolutionize denture services by providing "one day" dentures to patients at a reasonable cost. He was a pioneer in developing the technology which made one day dentures possible and was committed to making them easily available. Kaye also offered full service dentistry so his patients could receive examinations, x-rays, cleanings, etc. Offering a $50 denture and providing quality services ensured that the business would be a success. The quality and affordability of their unique dentures brought patients from all over the country and one office eventually grew into four. Patients enjoyed, then and now, free consultations, 1 day service (9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.), and professional advice. The name Family Dental Clinic changed to The Family Dentist and while many structural and personnel changes took place, the mission remained the same - quality dentures at a reasonable cost in a convenient way. After eighteen years, the $50 denture has become an $85 denture and patients still arrive from around the country. Today The Family Dentist is part of the MH Kaye Pavilion which is a professional office building built by Jerome Kaye upon the death of his father. The vision shared by father and son became reality in 1986 when their "shopping mall for health care" opened its doors. In continuing efforts to make obtaining health services convenient, an optical center and a hearing aid center shared space with The Family Dentist. This enabled patients to take care of several needs at once in one place. The MH Kaye Pavilion has professional space available for rent.  |
